Loa Starfallen is a mysterious entity who lurked deep in the core of Echo, its presence long concealed and surpressed by the realm's existence. With it being freed, Loa's ancient power has begun to distort the world, and the universe now is on a death spiral, the likes of which will bring about ruin to all living things.
Alpha and Omega are its raw essences split apart, with Loa Starfallen being the corpse of the mighty Primordial.
Appearance and Personality[]
Loa is the shadow of Order, Chaos, and Balance, and can appear as any one of their avatars, but not a single soul can be fooled by the entity, as the creature behaves less like a being and more like a force of nature, devoid of any rational motivations or objectives. The being cares not for any who would consider them allied with it, and will attack anything within its range, instantly stagnating the victim if it hits them, then moving on to its next target.
In its Starfallen form, it appears to be a great titan of shadow and the stardust of dead stars, with an incredibly gaunt form. It can be described as a storm of stagnation incarnate, and like a storm, is utterly indiscriminate in who receives its wrath.
History[]
Loa, an ancient force long forgotten by the universes, could be said to have been born from Chaos and Order's very first clash. If they are bright stars, then Loa is the boundless shadow forged by the very first clash between their original incarnations. But for untold ages, Loa was formless, and without true power. It existed merely as a subtle background, one which played no significance to existence.
However, the great battle between Chaos and Order was just as endless, so too was the great light that forged the shadow. And so, fueled by boundless power, boundless potential, the frail shadow deepened. It would continue in this manner, creepily swelling from an insignificant force, to that which could challenge gods, to something... more. However, to Order and Chaos, nothing was amiss, nor could they perceive the silent force they unknowingly created.
However, it was not until Balance appeared, that Loa became more than a mere Shadow, and stepped into the fold as a being of power, a Primordial. With the appearance and subsequent reordering of the power structure of the universe thanks to Balance, its power would rise to such an extent that the previously weakened Chaos and Order were empowered and their conflict merely perpetuated.
This was noticed by Balance, but they were not able to identify the source of this development til far later, when Loa had grown to such an extent that Balance alone could not best it, and even once Chaos and Order came to bare their might, it was only enough to temporarily push Loa back. Balance knew it had to be weakened, or the Universes could never achieve anything greater, and life would continue to falter. To this end, it tore Loa's essence in two, splitting them far apart and into the vast spaces beyond the Veil.
In spite of this, Loa's shriveled body continued its relentless attack. With little options left, Balance sealed it away with the aid of a Divine Power within the depths of a Universe, and obliterated all memory of Loa, with the hopes that some day, in the far distant future, someone would find a way to neutralize the threat of the Ultimate Shadow.
Powers[]
Subjective Form[]
A consequence of its nature as the Shadow of Chaos, Order, and Balance, its appearance is based on who views it. The Three Concepts themselves perceive it as both a shadow version of themselves, as well as the original version of their aspect, while anyone else will not be able to distinguish this, and will merely perceive it as a shadow of one of the Primordials based on which they lean toward conceptually.
Stagnation[]
The power born from the futile battle between Order and Chaos. The ability to freeze all things and bring about a world unchanged and eternal, but lacking in depth and meaning. Even the fastest of the fastest will give way to eternal immovable time, but it is just as true that one might remain in movement for eternity, but utterly lacking in purpose.
Chaos[]
The power of Regression. Equal if not greater than the current incarnation in potency. Not able to be used as a concious ability.
Order[]
The power of Advancement. Equal if not greater than the current incarnation in potency. Not able to be used on a concious level.
Balance[]
The force that regulates, equal if not greater than the current incarnation. Not able to be used on a concious level.
Revert Concept[]
When in proximity to Chaos, Order, or Balance, the presence or act of striking them may trigger a relapse into a more primitive version of that concept. This also happens at a cosmic scale, reverting existence to the state Loa remembers, causing the host universe to regress, the ultimate consequence being the reversion of all universes if Loa is not dealt with. The true name and nature of the 'death spiral' facing the universe.
Source: Primordial Darkness[]
Loa, as the first shadow, wields and is the primary source of the Primordial Darkness. So too does its presence summon and 'command' the Shadow Self. It is entirely immune to any form of darkness and anything that dares resemble it.
Touch of Stagnation[]
Loa's merest touch will put anything it touches into a perpetual state of Stagnation, possibly a fate more cruel than death.
